Review of the Soma Ayurvedic Anti Aging Cream | Clean and Green Skincare Guide

Soma Ayurvedic Anti Aging Cream

Soma Ayurvedic Anti Aging Cream- $68.00:

Here’s the quick SCORECARD breakdown. Each question is rated on a scale of 1 to 5, 5being the best:

1. How do the ingredients look? What’s inside?- Really fantastic, squeaky ‘clean’ based on the research I’ve done. Takes a ‘less is more’ approach for sure!

2. How's the application? Let's talk texture.- 5: This is a very thick, rich cream that soaks in and surprisingly, did not impart any oiliness. I loved how deeply moisturizing this felt!

3. How is the scent?- 3: It’s not subtle :) If you have issues with strong scents, this may not be for you. I adjusted to the strong aloe scent after a few applications.

4. Is it non-irritating?- 5: My skin was not irritated by this after applying once a day for two weeks.

5. Performance: does it do what it promises to do?- 3: It left my skin feeling very hydrated and silky smooth. I’m not so sure about added elasticity and didn't see a big impact on signs of aging like wrinkles.

6. Is this a consciously-created product? 5- 100% yes! Vegan, cruelty-free, and so much more. The mission behind the brand is commendable and the packaging is both thoughtful and sustainable.

7. Would I buy it again? 4- This is a dense and rich cream that I’d consider purchasing (this was a gift, but my review is honest) this cream during harsher, winter months!

FINAL SCORE:

25/30

PROS:

  • The mission and ethos of this brand is amazing. “For every purchase, Soma Ayurvedic donates a set of school supplies to deserving children in orphanages and a hygiene kit to women who don’t have access to these necessities.”

  • So rich and thick- great for colder months or dry skin. If you have VERY dry skin and are OK with scent, this is one of the richest creams I've used yet.

CONS:

  • The scent can be overpowering

  • It didn't follow through on the anti-aging promises (it won on hydration)

FINAL VERDICT:

  • Would I buy this again/for the first time (since, again, it was gifted)? Yes, I would!

A LITTLE “LIGHT READING” FOR YA? CHECK OUT THE FULL INGREDIENTS LIST + EWG RATINGS:

I pull these directly from the brand’s or reputable retailers’ website. You’d be shocked at how many product pages have misspellings so if you see one, you’ll know why! I didn’t catch it. Neither did the retailer. What’s missing: percentage of ingredient used & the amount of evidence/data backing up each number rating from EWG.org. You can search the EWG SkinDeep database to find the data available behind each rating. You can find out the percentage of the ingredient used by asking the brand. Here we go!
