I needed to find a green beauty replacement for the under eye concealer I’ve been using for, like, ever (Benefit’s Boi-ing) and rms beauty has been on my radar ever since I tested out their lip gloss pots a few months ago.

I decided to give their Un Cover-Up concealer/foundation a shot.

My Review of rms beauty’s Un Cover-Up Concealer/Foundation in 3 Minutes

What you’ll want to know:
• It’s $36.00 and you can get it on Sephora.com here.
• rms beauty, while super on-trend right now, is also a makeup line you can get behind with clean ingredients. There are no parabens, sulfates, or phthalates. Oh yea!
• It’s gluten and cruelty free, not to mention hypoallergenic. Ah-mazing.
• I used shade #22 and it worked really well.
• If you need heavier-duty under eye help, or have oily skin, you may want to pass

You'll love this concealer if:

  • You want to clean up your makeup act, and go green with your beauty routine.
  • You have under eye circles and need something lightweight that offers great coverage.
  • You need one serum that has two heavy anti-aging hitters in it so you can avoid having a cabinet filled with different potions that may or may not actually work.
  • Your skin is sensitive to most makeup (as I mentioned above, this is hypoallergenic).
  • You don't want to spend over $100 for an effective anti-aging option.

You may not need this concealer if:

  • You're not interested in anything over $10.
  • You need serious, heavy-duty under eye makeup. You can build a bit with this, but it definitely isn't one of those thick concealers.
  • You have oily skin. This product is lightweight and I mention a 'fix' for this below, but if you have oily skin, you may want to try something else.

Britt's tips & more:

  • It slides on like a balm. I mention this in the video, but for a flawless application, I use the beauty blender sponge and dab a teeny tiny bit of Bare Minerals Mineral Veil on top because I have combination skin.
  • I tend to not go too light for under eye concealers. It actually makes everything look worse when I do so I was super happy with the light-medium (#22) color I selected. It brightens but doesn't go too far.

I Review & Test Out the Lancôme CILS Booster XL Mascara Base

I received a sample of the Lancôme CILS Booster XL Super Enhancing Mascara Base in a recent subscription box so trying it out was a no-brainer for me.

I wasn't initially sold on the concept of mascara primers, mainly because I'm not into adding one more step to the makeup routine, buuuuuuuuut I may be convinced that this extra step it. Watch the video (3 min. review) and check out the before & after:

I Review & Test Out the Lancôme CILS Booster XL Mascara Base

What to know:

  • Lancôme knows what is up when it comes to lashes. They have a best-selling mascara, Definicils that, when I worked in the stores at Neiman Marcus, would be on massive replenishment. Women would buy that stuff by the pound. I assumed that they would get a mascara base right as well. I was right...

You'll love this mascara base if:

  • You're looking to add serious length to your lashes without much effort.
  • You have dry or brittle lashes that could use a little moisturizing under mascara.
  • I definitely also recommend castor oil at night by the way. It's been super helpful for my lashes.

You may not need this mascara base if:

  • Your lashes are on-point, thick and long. Go you!
  • You want something 100% organic. This is not a "green beauty" pick.

Application tips & more:

  • You can wear this to bed at night for a moisturizing treatment as well as under mascara.
  • Definitely do NOT wait to apply mascara after you brush on the base.
  • Lashes need more help? Check out my review of Castor Oil here.
  • Need help finding a better mascara? Here is my new favorite.

Bite's Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Beetroot is No Joke

The short story: I was on the hunt for a bold lip color option that didn’t look like a fire engine had parked on my mouth, i.e. I wanted something that wasn’t red for the season, but I wasn't sure what color would be best.

The subscription box angels heard my lip color prayers and just so happened to send me a sample of Bite's 'Beetroot' lipstick.

At first, the color looked almost too saturated. Plus, when it comes to dark colors like this, things can get tricky with feathering and they can also be super drying.

I gave it a shot. Here's what happened:

You can try it out in a sample "travel" size on Sephora.com here: http://bit.ly/2u6xAZI

I Didn't Know Leave-in Conditioner Could Do That?

The amount of abuse my hair puts up with is pretty remarkable. From the Dry Bar blow dryer that is a beast on wet hair (in a good way, but still, serious hot air happening there) to the Sedu flat iron, and then there's the monthly hair coloring. I mean, it's a lot.

Finding something to help my stressed-out tresses has been on my to-do list for a few months. Luckily, my Birchbox subscription came with just that, a sample of the Beauty Protector leave-in conditioner/protector/detangler.

Obviously I had to give it a whirl.

See what happened:

I bought the Beauty Protector leave-in conditioner here:

Can We Talk About RMS Beauty Lip Shines?

RMS Beauty is a name I've been hearing a LOT about lately so I had to try it out for myself. Since I was in the market for a new lip gloss, mainly because the Nars lip gloss I've been using on heavy rotation is a little, well, erm, toxic, I went with the super popular "Lip Shines" they offer.

You'll hear me mention this in the video, but lip gloss pots have not been a part of my makeup routine in awhile, like, not since those little lip pots from The Body Shop were a big deal.

Tangent: omg do you remember how much fun those were? #memories #90s

Moving right along...I bought two colors, one was a big winner in the review category, and that color is called "Honest." The other color spoke to me, and is anything but an everyday neutral color. That second hue is called "Content." I kept one pot. Which one?

Good question. Click to find out:
