Here's the deal Apple body types, this is YOUR look. Love it, know it well, wear it often (or variations on the theme) and you'll be good to go. See how to pull it off for Fall as well in the notes below:
The top: This is an essential for every woman's closet. You're not alone on this Apple body types, your shape just happens to benefit the most out of all four types when it comes to this top. Why? Because it's simple, it streamlines (no embellishments on the shoulders, along the neckline, or on the arms PLUS it's black which slims), and the scoop neck is wide, yet narrow enough so that it will elongate your upper half.
The bottom: This skirt, in all of it's striped-panel glory, is going to pull the focus to your bottom half. This is a good thing, it will even out proportions. What also helps balance things out is the a-line shape of the skirt. The fabric extends out and away from your legs which, you guessed it, is going to help create some balance for you.
The rest: You have the gladiator wedge which you can certainly swap out for a classic black or neutral (beige) pump. If you're on the petite side, err on the side of a pump as the ankle strap may end up cutting you off right at the shin and consequently, do the exact opposite of elongate. The bag is the perfect way to infuse some color into the black and white'ness of the look. There's also an option to pop the color in a pump, just make sure it's either one or the other, red bag or red shoe. Both would be overkill. From there, the sunnies and the cuff take it from classically polished to a little edgy. If you want to keep it clean, go with a more demure bracelet, possibly some layered gold chain bracelets (two at most, again, clean and simple), and a wider-frame, more glam'd up version of of the sunglasses.
The ONE thing you need to know when you want to pull this look off for your Apple body type is, the only adjustments you should be making here are the accessories. Swap out the shoe for a pump or an ankle boot/knee-high heeled boot to be worn with an opaque tight. Sure, you can go for a more subtle bag, no problem. But when it comes to the clothing, you want simple on top and drama on the bottom (in this case, an a-line printed skirt). Stick to balancing out proportions and above all, feel good. Take the look and make it work for you, not the other way around. K? K.
