Here's my tinted moisturizer sob story: Once upon a time, Kiehl's had this amazing tinted moisturizer and then one day, it was gone, poof, vanished, just like that. I cannot STAND it when companies do this, but it is a part of cosmetics and skin care life, this you know.
So, I went on another hunt to find a better alternative. And while I didn't buy a bunch all at once like I did with my foundation stick testing, I did get four top-rated tinted moisturizers (one BB cream I used as a tinted moisturizer) in my hands and put them to the test over a span of six months.
These aren't "at first look" reviews. After almost half a year (ok fine, this was a long test), I finally FINALLY found a favorite:
IN A NUTSHELL:
Jane Iredale ($41) won me over. I talk about it more on the video (see below). It's weightless, smells great, and 100% clean. I wear it over my new Radha moisturizer when my skin is extra dry and it's perfection. Love it, and the company.
HERE'S WHAT I THOUGHT OF THE REST:
- 100% Pure ($42): I loved how clean it is and the company is amazing. Overall though, the coverage was way too sheer for me. On to the next one...
- bareMinerals ($29.50): Ok so this one I wanted to love. I used it for way too long. I loved the glow it gave, but I constantly had small break outs, irritated skin, that I wanted to look past but couldn't. Pass.
- Kiehl's Since 1851 ($37): My mother loves this and she looks amazing so I gave it a shot. I found the smell to be too much, it's not very clean (toxic wise), and overall, I found it to be too sticky.
I SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU IN THE VIDEOS:
