Call me melodramatic. Call me a creature of habit. Call me whatever you want, but this sugar scrub is probably the best addition to my evening routine ever. No really, ever.

It's therapeutic. I summons a Pavlovian, zen-like response in me (note: unlike Pavlov's experiment, there's no drooling involved...yet) when I swipe a little bit of this heavenly scrub on my fingertips and soak up that intoxicating, warm, sugary-sweet, vanilla-laced scent. So all this to say, I kind of like it.

Here's where I found it, how I use it, and a few more things you may want to check out:

Good to know:

  • You'll love this if you're a fan of sweet scents. And vanilla, lots of vanilla.
  • You'll like this if you're partner likes sweet scents. Buttercream frosting, but toned down a bit and with a squeeze of fresh citrus. I mean...c'mon.
  • You will be a fan of this sugar scrub if you need to exfoliate (like the rest of the population) on a regular basis.
  • There's coconut oil up in here. If you're not into that, pass.
  • Oh right, product info: LaLicious Extraordinary Whipped Sugar Scrub in Sugar Kiss. It's $35 for the full size, or you can get 2 oz for $9.50.
  • I bought it here. I'm on my second tub, but it lasts for awhile.

Here's What I Thought About Crossfit

SO sure, fine, yep, I tried it. I sucked it up and I went to my first FREE class at Crossfit in Burlingame. I was petrified. I had built this up for weeks prior to finally biting the bullet, and let me tell you, walking into a Crossfit gym, sorry, "box" on my own, was as daunting as you think it would be. But I did it. I filmed this video the following week. There was a week after the first class before I would go into what they call a Foundations Course where I'd learn proper form so I don't get injured, etc.

Current update: I've stalled out. I'm nothing if I'm not 100% real with my followers so there you have it. Why? I'm not sure. I'm still super active, but I think I was expecting to at least get a call from them. Truth be told, it may sound ridiculous, but the fact that I'd be shelling out close to $200 a month and received zero follow-up after my first trial class left me very underwhelmed. It was a negative class, but I guess the millenial in me wanted to be wooed? I don't know honestly. I think I thought too hard about it, too much about it, and it killed it for me. Similar to when I'd ask my older brother to replay the Backstreet Boys over and over again when he'd drive us to high school in Nashville and his response would be, "no Brittany! You're going to ruin the song if you play it too much!"

I hated when he'd say that. How could I ever get sick of the Backstreet Boys? Right, well, once again, he was right. And this Crossfit adventure was just like that. Watch the video to hear more about what I did and what I thought in case you're summoning up the courage to give it a shot. I say try it. If you never try, you'll never know, right? Right. I'm now supplementing my Crossfit classes with, um, a Hip Hop class in Palo Alto next weekend. Yep, I'm allowed to change my mind and shift to the other end of the spectrum.

I Review the Radha Beauty Argan Oil Hair Mask

*All views in this review are the opinion of the author. This post was not sponsored. I purchased the products featured or received a sample size in a monthly subscription box. FYI this post may contain affiliate/referral links. Read the complete TheStyleShaker.com disclosure here.

Prime Day is not usually something I wait around for, but when I saw the email come through from Radha beauty about their big 50% off promotion for the Amazon event, I bought, and I didn't hesitate.

I've tried a few Radha Beauty picks in the past and have loved them, not to mention the prices (so, affordable). I purchased a few goodies, one of which was this Argan Oil Hair Mask. I put my hair through the ringer on the daily and knew I needed to add a few moisture boosters into my haircare routine mix so the timing could not have been better.

Here's what happened:

review of radha beauty argan oil hair mask

Good to know:

  • It's only $12.95! And you can get it on Amazon here.
  • It started as a small company that sold essential oils, became hugely successful on Amazon, and is now growing like crazy.
  • To me it’s all about high quality at a ridiculously affordable price.
  • I tried their anti-aging younger cream and was hooked. They had a sale for Prime Day so I ended up getting this and an under eye gel. This was half-off!
  • Radha Beauty also says it works for all hair types.

You’ll love this if:

  • You need to strengthen your hair. It won’t repair split ends but it will strengthen and moisturize hair you may be beating up with hair coloring and styling tools.
  • You’re looking for a cleaner haircare option: this keeps it simple with 100% organic Moroccan Argan Oil, Coconut Oil, and Aloe Vera gel.
  • You want to prevent more damage.
  • You have fine hair and need something moisturizing that doesn’t goop it up too much or weigh it down.

You will not love this if:

  • You don’t have 10 extra minutes.
  • Seriously I am struggling to find reasons why you won't love this stuff.

I found the Rene Furterer Vegetal Texture Spray after watching a tutorial on Byrdie about how to get heat-free waves, was super intrigued and decided to give it a go.

I Try Rene Furterer Vegetal Texture Spray| Haircare Review

What you’ll want to know:

  • This hair spray is $32 and you can get it at Dermstore.com here: http://bit.ly/2tzBJbG
  • Rene Furterer is a big hair stylist name in Paris and is a brand that is rooted in all things botanicals when it comes to ingredients.
  • This is 100% a texture spray that isn't stiffening but really adds some extra weight to the hair.

You'll love this texture spray if:

  • You have thick and/or coarse hair that can hold up to thicker texturizing sprays and are looking for controlled volume that won't frizz out in humid weather.
  • You don't mind a heavy floral scent.
  • You have the type of hair that doesn't have to be washed every day.
  • You're in swamp-like weather conditions and don't mind your hair feeling a tad dirty as long as it doesn't have fly aways.

You may not want this texture spray if:

  • You have super thick, voluminous hair (I mean, well done if that's the case, more power to you).
  • You are super sensitive to scents and anything that isn't vegan or organic.
  • On that note, if you're looking for something that's hypoallergenic, this is not it.
  • You have fine hair that is thinning. This will weigh it down, not immediately, but after the first day you will be ready to wash it out.
  • You're not into throwing down more than $10-$20 for hair products.

My Review of the EVOLVh UltraShine Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

*All views in this review are the opinion of the author. This post was not sponsored. I purchased the products featured or received a sample size in a monthly subscription box. FYI this post may contain affiliate/referral links. Read the complete TheStyleShaker.com disclosure here.

I found EVOLVh on Instagram and had to see what this “luxury natural haircare” line was all about.

I bought their UltraShine Moisture Shampoo and they were kind enough to gift me a bottle of their UltraShine Moisture Conditioner to try with it. They’re SF-based so that was just a bonus. By the way, I mention this in the review, but having both the shampoo and conditioner to try out together made a huge difference, so keep that in mind if you're considering trying this out...

That said, this review, like every other one I serve up, is 100% honest, gifted conditioner or no gift. So what did I think? And, um, what is luxury natural haircare? Right, let's get to it:

What you’ll want to know:

  • The conditioner is $28 and the shampoo is $26. You can buy both here: SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER
  • The reason for the price and why this is called a luxury natural haircare line, is because they are free of everything that could harm your hair AND they claim to use proprietary ingredients that no one else on the market does.
  • It sounds like a lot of the cost goes into the quality of the ingredients used and technology to back it up.
  • It really smells amazing. Like, sooooo good.
  • The two things I noticed most were more shine and better manageability.

You'll love this shampoo and conditioner if:

  • You have fine, color-treated, aging hair and are looking for a 90% organic haircare option that is also gluten free, you’re going to love this.
  • You're ok with spending a few extra bucks on higher quality haircare.
  • You have fine hair and need moisture but don't want it to be weighed down.
  • You need an extra boost of shine without the added use of products after you get out of the shower.

You may not need this shampoo and conditioner if:

  • Going organic is not a priority.
  • If you have healthy, untreated “virgin” hair, this is not for you. There’s no need to spend.
  • The idea of spending over $20 on one bottle of shampoo makes you cringe.

Thanks for watching!
