TEAR SHEETS FROM THE BOOK: The Magic and Wonder that is my Outfit Planner Worksheet...

GET A SNEAK PEEK INSIDE THE BOOK:

At the beginning of the guide (and this is why it's really more of a workbook) you'll find my Closet Toolkit, filled with worksheets you can tear out and make your own. Each of these worksheets was developed over the course of the past five years and hundreds of clients. They're 100% exclusive to my brand, you won't find them anywhere (unless they're being copied and that's a no-no), and they work like a charm.

Not only for my personal styling clients either. I use them as well, actually that is where they started. My all-time favorite worksheet is the Outfit Planner. This is the one worksheet I depend on every week to pull off my very own Ultimate 'grab and go' wardrobe situation.

Translation: I grab my outfit (there's one tailored to my lifestyle, my body type, and every occasion on my calendar), I go about my day without stressing about what to wear. Actually, once the Outfit Planner is prepped for the week, there's very little thought that goes into it. That's the fun part. It's glorious. And no, that's not me exaggerating, it's just that good.

Full disclosure: In order for the Outfit Planner to be super-effective, a solid foundation to work from is needed (that's why it comes into play after the Week 1 Closet Overhaul), but once you have that, it simplifies life by simplifying getting dressed every day (this is the perfect packing list tool as well).

TEAR SHEETS FROM THE BOOK: The 80/20 Shopping List, Defined...

GET A SNEAK PEEK INSIDE THE BOOK:

The 80/20 Shopping List is the one and only list my clients need to get them through every season. Once you take inventory of what is in your (post-Week 1, organized and cleared out) closet and apply it to the 'List' you get a clear shopping picture to follow for Fall and Spring.

This is great for a number of reasons:

First, those impulse buys, and spending money on something you're never going to wear (or even worse, isn't the right choice for your body type) will be a thing of the past. You'll know what to look for (later in the chapter I walk you through how to find what you need to fill in those wardrobe 'holes') and where to shop for it (in-store and/or on-line). Boom. Done.

Secondly, you'll be able to create so much more with less. The 80/20 list (and you'll see this below in the Tear Sheet for today) is about creating a wardrobe that is 80% core, and 20% trend (it doesn't have to be exact of course, this is faction, not a math class on percentages thank God) so you can get the most use out of what you have and update using key trend items. See what I mean in the snippet from the book below:

TEAR SHEETS FROM THE BOOK: See where I shop for myself, and my clients, on-line with the hit list

Access to my On-line Shopping Hit List is just another perk of owning the workbook. With the Hit List, the digging is done for you. I update this list annually (and seasonally sometimes depending on new boutiques I fall in love with on-line as they go live) and use it daily to add to personalized Shopping Lists created for my clients.

The list was developed after a talk I gave a year ago at a country club where the top question, following, 'what's my body type?' was, 'where do you shop on-line?'

After a decade in e-commerce and merchandising spent launching websites for Neiman Marcus, I've become a stickler for what I deem a 'good' on-line customer experience. The bar is set high.

I look for amazing, well-priced product assortments (quality has been tested over the years after purchasing from these sites for product reviews and my own wardrobe), inexpensive/free shipping/return policies ( the bulk of the sites on my Hit List made it because the shopping process is seamless), and a few other key factors I've learned over the years. The list is 100% based on my experience and only includes sites I have used for myself and my clients. I wasn't paid by any of these companies. Just want to be super clear about that.

Revamping your wardrobe and updating your look so you know exactly what to wear to look your best for every occasion on your calendar is what the Lookbooks are all about. They bring in the element of edited and searchable inspiration.

I created the Lookbooks initially for myself, to use as quick inspiration while working in the closets of my personal styling clients. Since The 30-Day Ultimate Closet Guide is the virtual equivalent of having me in your closet with you, the Lookbooks needed to be accessible to everyone. So, I created a private page for readers to use.
