#27, Outfit Grid: "How Do I Make a Basic Black-on-Black Outfit Look Not So Basic For a Night Out?"

#26, Outfit Grid: "How Do I Dress Up Boyfriend Jeans For This Weekend?"

PS Request: "I need a simple way to dress up a casual, boyfriend jeans + a sweater weekend look. Any ideas?"

How to wear boyfriend jeans.

Occasion: Daytime/Casual

Season: Fall

Body Type: Hourglass, Rectangle

Notes: Use the shoe to change up the entire look. I always start with the shoe when getting dressed. It doesn't have to be this high of a  heel, you could easily pull a stacked heel sandal or mule into this equation if the weather permits.

#25, Outfit Grid: "How Can I Wear A Crop Top Without Revealing Too Much?"

How to wear a crop top and pencil skirt.

OccasionEvening/Dressy (not formal, but also not too casual)

Season: Fall, Spring

Body Type: Hourglass, Rectangle, Pear

Notes: Go with a very well fitted crop top that won't slide up or float around. Pair it back to a high waisted pencil skirt and PLEASE keep a heel in mind to balance proportions! The black-on-black foundation here lets that bomber jacket pop, plus it pulls more coverage into the look if you need/want it.

#24, Outfit Grid: "I Bought a Teal Pencil SkIrt On Sale. How Do I Wear It?"

PS Request: "So I got an insane deal on a teal pencil skirt last month and haven't worn it yet. How can I pull this fitted skirt off?"

How to wear a bright teal pencil skirt with hot pink ankle strap sandals.

Occasion: Daytime/Dressy

Season: Spring

Body Type: Hourglass, Rectangle, Apple

Notes: When you're dealing with such a saturated (and gorgeous) hue, you can work it back to a neutral palette. If you're feeling playful and can handle the color, complement that cool teal with a warm magenta. Or keep it simple with a basic beige pump.

#23, Outfit Grid: "How Should I Wear This Striped Midi Dress For My Trip to Wine Country Next Week?"

PS Request: "I'm heading to wine country next weekend. It will finally be warm out so I was planning on wearing my new striped dress but want to upgrade my look beyond basic. Any ideas?"

OccasionDaytime/Polished & Daytime/Casual *with the substitution of a flat sandal and neutral lip

Season: Spring

Body Type: Hourglass, Rectangle

Notes: Go with coral. I know blush is having a moment right now, but since we're just transitioning into Spring, I'd go with a deeper, warmer hue like coral. It will pop back to the soft stripe detail on the dress. Add a chambray shirt or drape-front heather gray cardigan into the equation for when the sun sets, and go with a stacked heel on a sandal so you can walk around without sinking into the grass.
