Sometimes, when you're knocked down and you don't know what to do next, whether it's in life or in your closet, you just have to get up and put your (in this case) overalls on one leg at a time.
Get back up, get dressed, go out there and be the change you want to see. And yes, you will note the date of this post is following election night.
Fashion is just fashion, but it is one more way we can use our voice. I'm reminded why I adore it beyond it's superficial nature so much for this exact reason. What you wear can send a message and bolster your confidence when you need a nudge.
So speak up, do you, and be kind to others. Look at what you can do, not what you felt has been done to you. And by all means, try on a fedora.
NOTES & TIPS:
- This is where I usually talk about how many ways to wear the look, but in this case, the main change here is whatever shirt you wear underneath. You could drop the long sleeve shirt and go with a classic white tee, tank top, off the shoulder shirt (love this option), and then some...
- Ok what shoes: open sandals work of course, and if the hem is a flare, make them heeled (love these as an essential option you can wear with anything). If it's a skinnier leg overall, you could go with an ankle boot (go with a soft suede like this) too.
- Layer up bracelets or rings to add something all your own.
