The quote:

Sometimes just the decision to try is enough. Actually, that can be the most challenging part. Once you make up your mind to try something, to go for something you've been wanting, things start to open up. Now, in my experience, that doesn't mean the thing you go for, a new job, publishing a book, [insert your dream here] is going to magically appear in front of you now that you've changed your mind.

Instead, I find that once you open yourself up to trying, you open yourself up to being vulnerable and it's that vulnerability that allows you to see things, possibly opportunities, possibly things that have been getting in your way, that you would not have seen otherwise.

Doors may open, they usually do. But again, and I can only speak from my own experience here, the doors that do open are usually the ones you didn't see coming. Or they're doors you didn't even know existed.

I'm a planner. I map things out and I like to find the reasons for why everything happens in life. But sometimes, there's no map, there's no figuring things out, there's just putting your right foot in front of your left and having the courage to no take the action but more importantly, have that small step be enough.

It's our job to open ourselves up the possibility that we can have what we want. It's our job to take the first step in pure faith. It's not our job to figure out how everything will align. Once we open up to the options out there, it's up to us to  listen and keep our eyes wide open. When something resonates positively, walk towards it. If it doesn't, walk away.

Could it actually be that simple and we're just mucking it up? Yea, I think so. Today's zen moment is a reminder to myself as much as it is to you the reader.

What do you want to do? When will you take your first step? What's holding you back?

Think about it.
