How to Make A Royal Blue Velvet Blazer (and/or pant) Work This Fall. She Wore Blue Velvet...

Velvet is something to consider this Fall, whether you go with green, burgundy, or in this case, a royal blue. The outfit inspiration shows an entire suit covered in this luxe fabric, but I think the easiest way to incorporate it into any wardrobe is by picking one or the other and wearing it back to a core basic you already own.

EXAMPLES:

Blue velvet blazer (trend item), black distressed skinny jean (or not distressed; core item) or black jogger pant (love these; core item) for a more polished look that can easily go casual.

Blue velvet pant (trend item), grey v-neck t-shirt (like this one; core item), statement necklace (core item; here's my personal favorite for this look), clutch (core item; try a classic black like this clutch), and a metallic heel for cocktails (semi-core item; it depends on how you roll out for evening festivities; love this ankle strap heel for this look back to the blue).
