The 80/20 Shopping List is the one and only list my clients need to get them through every season. Once you take inventory of what is in your (post-Week 1, organized and cleared out) closet and apply it to the 'List' you get a clear shopping picture to follow for Fall and Spring.
This is great for a number of reasons:
First, those impulse buys, and spending money on something you're never going to wear (or even worse, isn't the right choice for your body type) will be a thing of the past. You'll know what to look for (later in the chapter I walk you through how to find what you need to fill in those wardrobe 'holes') and where to shop for it (in-store and/or on-line). Boom. Done.
Secondly, you'll be able to create so much more with less. The 80/20 list (and you'll see this below in the Tear Sheet for today) is about creating a wardrobe that is 80% core, and 20% trend (it doesn't have to be exact of course, this is faction, not a math class on percentages thank God) so you can get the most use out of what you have and update using key trend items.
